. This class will dig deep into understanding color in painting. Painters will explore the ways in which hue, value, and chroma are used to achieve a convincing illusion of light and depth in their paintings. You will learn what your palette is capable of describing and then apply it by painting several paintings. This will be a fun filled class and you will take away much that you can use in your painting journey. Supply list provided. All levels welcome.
This class is limited to 8 participants.

On a bright sunny day, I found this vibrantly colored store while attending the Forgotten Coast 2014 Plein Air Event. It was the perfect scenario for painting… good light and shadow for the subject and a shade tree directly across the street. So my friend, Linda Pelts and I set up out easels and enjoyed painting in one of my favorite places to visit and paint, Apalachicola, Florida.
Five artists friends with a passion for painting, a lovely house on St. George Island, FL, great seafood, lots of great painters to observe and perfect weather were just the right ingredients for an unforgettable week at the Forgotten Coast Plein Air Event, 2014. The area is eye candy for the painter. You can't believe how many intriguing and varied sites there are here to capture on canvas. Behind the scenes of this well designed event, is master organizer, Joe Taylor and his staff. They work extremely hard every year to make this one of the country's most outstanding plein air events. Joe and his troop of volunteers are already at work planning for 2015. Come join us! You will love it!
